Cape Geddes is a cape on the north coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is at the northern end of the Ferguslie Peninsula between Browns Bay to the west and Macdougal Bay to the east. To the north-north-west are the Rudmose Rocks , a group of small rock islands, around 800 meters away .
Participants of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) mapped the cape in 1903. Expedition leader William Speirs Bruce named it after the Scottish biologist and sociologist Patrick Geddes (1854-1932). From January 21, 1946 to March 17, 1947, Cape Geddes was the location of the scientific summer station of the same name (also Base C ) when it was replaced by the Signy station .
