Cape Kennedy is a cape on the coast of Queen Marie Land in East Antarctica . It is located on the east side of the Melba Peninsula at a distance of 6 km southwest of David Island .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered it. Mawson named it after the Australian physicist Alexander Lorimer Kennedy (1889–1972), who was involved in the research trip.
