Cape Knowles is a 305 m high cape on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . The cape limits the entrance to the Hilton Inlet to the north .
Participants of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered the headland in 1940. It is named after the American geologist Paul Knowles (1909–1978), a member of the expedition and head of surveying the coastline up to this bay.
