Cape Lloyd is the northern cape of Clarence Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It marks the northern limit of the entrance to Kutela Cove .
The British navigator Edward Bransfield named the cape as Lloyd Promontory in 1820 while sailing the brig Williams in the waters around the South Shetland Islands . The current naming as cape is considered to be established, but the further naming background has not been passed down.
