Lauterecken Jewish cemetery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lauterecken Jewish cemetery is a former cemetery in the town of Lauterecken in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The Jewish cemetery was laid out in 1892 as a division of the communal cemetery on the Igelskopf. Six people were buried between 1894 and 1938. The cemetery was cleared in 1973 during the construction of the bypass for Bundesstraße 270 with the consent of the Jewish Community of the Rhine Palatinate. The bones of those buried here were reburied in the Jewish cemetery in Odenbach am Glan . A memorial stone with their names reminds of those buried from Lauterecken.
