Steinbach am Glan Jewish cemetery
The Jewish cemetery Steinbach am Glan is a cemetery in the local community Steinbach am Glan in the district of Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate . It stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .
The Jewish cemetery is located northeast of the village, south of the Henschbach and the B 423 .
There are 232 gravestones in the 1940 m² cemetery, an area surrounded by a stone wall that was occupied from 1826 to 1938 . In 1891 the originally 580 m² cemetery was enlarged by an area of 1360 m². Before their own burial site was created, the Jews from Steinbach were buried in the Gries cemetery.
The cemetery was desecrated for the first time in 1935 ( Nazi period ) and then three times since 1979 .
