Cape Parjadin ( Russian Мыс Порядина Mys Porjadina ) is one of the westernmost headlands of the island of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located about 5 km south of Cape Alexandra and extends about 130 m further to the west than that. The cape marks the southern limit of the entrance to Greene Inlet .
The cape was discovered by the English navigator James Cook in 1775 and was spotted again in 1819 during the Russian Antarctic expedition under Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen . The latter named it after Jakow Porjadin [sic], navigator of the ship Vostok , next to the Mirny one of two ships of the expedition. The spelling, which has been modified from the first name, has long been established.
