Cape Savudrija ( Croatian Rt Savudrija , Italian Punta Salvore ) is a headland in the northwest of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia , immediately north of the town of Savudrija . The cape marks both the western end of the Bay of Piran and its transition into the Gulf of Trieste and, together with the Punta Tagliamento opposite on the Italian coast, its transition into the Adriatic Sea . The coastal area of the cape is characterized by a rocky beach and offers numerous bathing opportunities. There is a lighthouse just south of the cape . It was completed in 1818 and is the oldest still active on the Adriatic coast.

As part of the settlement of the disputes between Croatia and Slovenia over the course of the maritime border between the two countries in the Bay of Piran and the sea area in front of it, the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) called from Cape Savudrija moved the baseline east to Cape Madona .
