Cape Sobral is a towering and mostly snow-covered hill on the Nordenskjöld coast of West Antarctic Graham Land . It is located at the southern end of the Sobral Peninsula .
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by Otto Nordenskjöld discovered the Cape . Nordenskjöld named it after the Argentine José María Sobral (1880–1961), assistant physicist and meteorologist on this research trip .
