The Roman Catholic chapel in Stein , a district of Markt Rettenbach in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ), was built in the 17th or 18th century. It is a listed building.

Building description

The chapel consists of a small rectangular room, to which the semicircular closed choir adjoins through a pressed choir arch . The chapel room has a flat ceiling. A arched door leads into the chapel, and arched windows are also inserted.

Furnishing

The altar consists of a brick Mensa, this is a created probably around 1700 altarpiece . It consists of a blown gable and contains a modern picture. The Way of the Cross dates from the 18th century and is handcrafted. The larger than life crucifix , marked 1551, is an impressive work of folk art. It is made of wood and is framed. The two angel sputters date from the first half of the 18th century. The six benches in the stalls were made of softwood in the 18th century and have curved cheeks.
