Helena Island is an uninhabited island in Nunavut Territory , Canada . It belongs to the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Arctic Ocean .
The island runs parallel to the northwest coast of Bathurst Island and is separated from it by Sir William Parker Strait . It is 41 kilometers long and 12.8 kilometers wide and has an area of 326 square kilometers. To the east of Helena Island, off Cape Halkett , lie the Hosken Islands and Sherard Osborne Island . There are also some small islands in front of the Western Cape, Cape Robert Smart . About eleven kilometers northwest of Noel Point is Seymour Island, a breeding area for the rare Ivory Gull .
