The King Christian Island ( German "King Christian Island" ) is one of the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Canadian territory of Nunavut .
It is located southwest of Ellef Ringnes Island and is separated from it by the Danish Strait . King Christian Island is 27 km long, 14 km wide and has an area of 645 km². The island was discovered in 1901 by the Second Fram Expedition led by Otto Sverdrup .
