Truro Island is an uninhabited island in the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Canadian territory of Nunavut . It is located in McDougall Sound between Bathurst Island and Cornwallis Island . The island is separated from Brooman Point on Bathurst Island by the four kilometer wide Akulliak Passage. Truro Island has a length of 12.5 kilometers and a width of two kilometers and thus an area of 21 km².
In the past, Truro Island was the location of a measuring station that was supposed to collect data on the earth's atmosphere , ocean currents and changes in the ice .
