Chapel Horst

The Horst Chapel is located in the Giesenkirchen- Leppershütte district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), Horst 20.

It was built in the 1930s and registered under No. H 101 on June 2, 1987 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The chapel is located north of the access road to the outer bailey of the Haus Horst moated castle .

architecture

It is a free-standing chapel made of exposed brick under a gable roof . A pressed square roof turret with a very flat roof and a filigree cross crown the building. The corners of the building are accentuated by a corner block made of brick fields, which merge into a brick step arch on both gable sides .

The front side shows a pointed arch portal with a renewed decorative grille, which takes on the arch shape through its design. Are three lancet windows in common by running on the two long sides sill and window frame of slanted bricks. Inside is a contemporary altar .
