The Roman Catholic chapel is located in Vorderbuchenbrunn, a district of Markt Rettenbach in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building. The chapel was built in the 18th century on the occasion of a mouse plague. It bears the patronage of Saint Catherine of Siena .

Building description

The chapel is a small hall with only one window axis with arched windows. Inside there is a flat ceiling . To the room closed by a pressed closes chancel the retracted semicircular chancel at. The chancel also has a flat ceiling. An arched entrance leads into the chapel. There is a wooden six-sided ridge turret on the chapel . The roof turret is covered with a curly helmet. The chapel was renovated in 1899, 1964, 1998 and most recently in 2010. On April 30, 2011, the new inauguration of the chapel took place.

Furnishing

The altar is a marbled wooden structure and dates from around 1700. The wedding of St. Catherine is depicted on the altarpiece . The altarpiece is flanked by free columns. The altar is finished with a triangular segment-arched gable. There is a figure in a small niche in the pull-out.
