Path chapel at the Ruppenschwaige

The Ruppenschwaige is one of many Schwaighöfen on the right side of the Danube in the Donauried , about one kilometer northeast of the Schwenningen district of Gremheim ; in the Bavarian district of Dillingen on the Danube . The Ruppenmühle is located about 400 m to the southeast .

To the south in the direct vicinity of the Schwaighof there is a small path chapel from the 18th century at the bend in the Lohrgraben, which is still in its historical state, except for the renewed roof. The open forward, simple Kastenbau is protected with a steep pitched roof> 70 degrees, the Traufkonstruktion carries as the only structurally not absolutely necessary trim a Aufschiebling . On the front side there is a wide entrance with a flat arched lintel, above which the tapered gable masonry with a beaver-covered cornice divides the facade. Originally the verge and probably also the eaves were clad in wood, after the roof was renewed it was plastered and the verge covered with modern angular beavers. The entrance is designed like a sign and closes backwards with an oak prey gate against the saint apse, which was bricked up diagonally against the rear wall, thus simulating optical depth. The side walls of the vestibule are set back on both sides with wide arched niches against strong front corner pillars, in the closed niches again small, deep arched niches, probably once as holy niches. The roof structure is open on the inside (recently provided with a bird protection grille). Furnishing. The chapel is flanked on both sides by two old linden trees, with four handles on the right and three handles on the left.

The wayside chapel is listed under the number D-7-73-164-9. Furthermore, it lies within the FFH area Donauauen Blindheim-Donaumünster.
