Chapel in the Memmingen Clinic

The chapel in the Memmingen Clinic is a prayer room for all religious communities in the Memmingen Clinic .

The pastoral care of the clinic is in the hands of a Protestant and a Catholic priest. There is a chapel on the second floor of the clinic for mental treatment of the patients. The actual sacred space is about 10 meters long, 9 meters wide and 6 meters high. The sacred room has 40 seats. To the south there is a side with 16 windows.

Four of the glass windows are artistically designed. On the yellow glass it says in black letters:

  • I am the handmaid of the Lord, Lk 1:38
  • I was dead
  • But see
  • I live

In the chapel there is a popular altar , ambo and sedile . A crucifix hangs on the southeast side . In front of it is a life-size statue of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus . There are chairs on the central 2.5 meter wide gallery with glass balustrade and an organ on the northern side . An eastern door leads to another room that is used as a sacristy .
