Karachi South District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The district forms part of the city of Karachi and consists of the Saddar district .
The district has an area of 122 km² and 1,791,751 inhabitants according to the 2017 census. The population density is 14,686 inhabitants / km².
location
The district is located in the south of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. It forms the southern part of the mega city of Karachi.
history
In 2000 the district was abolished and Karachi became a single district of Sindh. On July 11, 2011, the Sindh government restored the Karachi South District.
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017, the population grew by 1.02% annually. 943,546 men, 848,010 women and 195 transgender people live in 327,518 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 111.2 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus of men for Pakistan.
