Karel Mareš

Karel Mareš (born August 2, 1927 in Mladá Boleslav , Czechoslovakia ; † November 11, 2011 in Prague , Czech Republic ) was a Czech composer , songwriter , actor and theater director .

biography

Karel Mareš studied economics, worked in a bank and occasionally as a bar pianist in a hotel. He later became a member of several ensembles and worked with musicians such as Eva Olmerová , Yvonne Přenosilová and Karel Gott . In total he wrote over 300 songs in his career. During his time at the theater he wrote incidental music, staged plays and occasionally played with some. From the mid-1960s he was seen in minor supporting roles and as an extra in several films. He also composed the music for over 40 feature films, including The Fire Brigade Ball , The Shadow of the Flying Bird and The Last Train .
