Karin Halsch

Karin Halsch , formerly Seidel-Kalmutzki (born September 17, 1960 in Naumburg (Saale) ), is a German SPD politician . From 2006 to 2011 she was Vice President of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979, Halsch first completed a commercial apprenticeship. From 1995 to 2001 she was the state manager of the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics and is an employee of the August Bebel Institute .

Halsch was President of BFC Dynamo from October 2000 to June 2001 . She resigned because the presidium withheld her access to all contracts. In addition to the BFC, she is also a member of Hertha BSC and the German Olympic Society .

Halsch is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Humanism Foundation Berlin, a foundation of the Humanist Association of Germany .

Halsch is married to the IBM manager Volker Halsch .

Halsch joined the SPD in 1995. In the Berlin district of Hohenschönhausen she was deputy district chairwoman from 1998 to 2000. Since 2000 she has been deputy district chairwoman of the SPD in the Lichtenberg district . Since 2000 she has been a member of the state executive of the Berlin SPD and since 2004 of the SPD party council and since 2011 of the party convention.

From 1995 to 1999 Halsch was a member of the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen district council .

Halsch has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 1999. In 2001 she became deputy chairman of the parliamentary group in the SPD parliamentary group, sports policy spokeswoman and spokeswoman for cooperation between Berlin and Brandenburg (until 2009). From October 26, 2006 to October 27, 2011, she was Vice-President of the House of Representatives and Chair of the Sports Committee.

In the 2011 election she was initially mistakenly declared the winner of the Lichtenberg 1 constituency . The direct mandate went to Evrim Baba (Left Party) after a recount . Halsch nevertheless moved into the House of Representatives via the Lichtenberg district list. In the 17th electoral term she is again a member of the Presidium and Chair of the Sports Committee as well as spokeswoman for federal affairs for the SPD parliamentary group.
