Karl-Adolf Otto

Karl A. Otto (born 1934 ) is Professor Emeritus for Political Sociology and Didactics of Social Sciences at Bielefeld University .

Life

Karl A. Otto worked as a machinist until 1954 and then as a journalist and editor until 1969. From 1969 to 1975 he studied politics, history, education and sociology.

In 1975 he received his doctorate at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe , Dept. Bielefeld with the thesis On the History and Political Sociology of the “ Extra-Parliamentary Opposition ” in the Federal Republic of Germany, represented in the “ Easter March ” movement / “ Campaign for Democracy and Disarmament ” (1960 –1970) , which was published in 1977 under a modified title

In 1975 he became a research assistant at the University of Education in Bielefeld and later a professor at the university there - founded in 1969 - into which the Bielefeld department of the University of Education was integrated in 1980.
