Karl Rath (politician)

Karl August Rath (born April 4, 1833 in Metzingen , † January 5, 1903 in Ennabeuren ) was a Württemberg politician.

Karl Rath attended secondary school in Metzingen , then the agricultural school in Hohenheim . He was a farmer and innkeeper (zum Rößle) in Ennabeuren , later a landowner in Breithülen , which at that time belonged to the municipality of Ennabeuren.

Rath was from 1862 to 1890 member of the municipal council in Ennabeuren, from 1890 to 1894 parish clerk. From 1894 he was mayor of Ennabeuren and in this capacity also a member of the official assembly (comparable to today's district council) of the Münsingen Oberamt.

In the Münsingen constituency , Karl Rath was elected to the Württemberg state parliament in 1882 , and he held this mandate until his death in 1903.
