Karl-Friedrich Pohlmann

Karl-Friedrich Pohlmann (born January 12, 1941 in Korbach ) is a German Protestant theologian and professor emeritus. He taught at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster (Westphalia).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1961, Pohlmann studied Protestant theology at the Philipps University of Marburg . After the first theological exam in 1965, he worked there until 1968 at the Old Testament seminary. He received his doctorate with the dissertation Studies for the Third Esra in 1969.

Pohlmann received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation and completed his habilitation with the text Studien zum Jeremiabuch in 1976 in Marburg. In the same year he became pastor of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck . In 1981 he was appointed professor at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Münster. His research and teaching focus is on the Old Testament. In 2006 Pohlmann retired.
