Karl-Heinz Heidemann

Karl-Heinz Heidemann (born September 21, 1925 ) is a former German soccer player. For SV Stahl Thale he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football . There he played 96 point games from 1950 to 1954 and scored eleven goals.

Athletic career

In 1950, Heidemann moved from the third-class company sports association (BSG) Traktor Hornhausen with the recommendation of a state selection player from Saxony-Anhalt to the upper division club SG Eisenhüttenwerk Thale. In his first league season 1950/51, in which the SG EHW changed into the BSG Stahl, Heidemann was used without interruption from the 3rd to the 26th game with the exception of one failure. He was injured in the last eight point games. He could only be called up again on the 15th matchday of the 1951/52 season, but then fought for a regular place as a left wing runner , most recently as a center forward , in another 18 point games . Despite his late start to the season, he was one of the most successful goal scorers of his team with seven goals. The season 1952/53 began Heidemann again on the left side of midfield, after nine game days he moved to right midfield. After the BSG Stahl had achieved the best result of their time in the league in the past season with fifth place, the surprising descent took place in 1953/54. For Heidemann it was initially a successful season, because he was able to complete all league games for the first time. He was initially used again in midfield, in the second half of the season he played as a right defender. In the 14 games with Heidemann in defense, the team conceded 32 goals and could not escape relegation. In the second-rate DDR-Liga steel valley was in season 1954/55 promptly in the II. DDR-Liga passed. A seventh place in season 2 was not enough to stay relegated, as the GDR league was reduced to one season. Heidemann was involved in the relegation with 25 inserts in 26 point games. With his 13 goals he was the best scorer of his team. After relegation, he played for BSG Stahl Thale until 1962, but did not return to higher-class football.
