Karl-Heinz Köhler (born April 27, 1937 in Teutschenthal ) is a German painter and graphic artist.

Live and act

Karl-Heinz Köhler, born in Teutschenthal near Halle , did an apprenticeship as a lithographer from 1951 to 1954 and worked in this profession. In 1966 he completed additional training as a cartographer . He received his artistic training in evening studies from 1956 to 1962 with Otto Fischer-Lamberg in life drawing and painting. 1967–1970 he was a guest auditor and student in the basic artistic course at Burg Giebichenstein Art College in Halle , with Lothar Zitzmann , Hannes H. Wagner , Martin Wetzel and also with Otto Müller, a student at the Burg Giebichenstein . In 1982 he gave up his profession as a cartographer and after his admission to the Association of Visual Artists in 1981 worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Halle.

The main subjects of his painting are landscape and nature, the city of Halle and music. From 1986 to 1990 he was a regular guest at the concert rehearsals of the Halleschen Philharmonie . Countless work studies were carried out and since then he has never let go of the subject. Large-format works by Karl-Heinz Köhler can be found in public spaces, for example in the Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Halle and in the foyer of the Halle Opera House . Karl-Heinz Köhler lives and works in Halle.
