The settlement is located northeast of the core town in the central Palatinate Forest north of the Mannheim – Saarbrücken railway line in the immediate vicinity of the district boundary of the Lindenberg community .

Namesake

The district is named after the local poet Karl Rauch. He was born on March 29, 1887 in Lambrecht and was a cloth weaver. Rauch was the author of several plays, including "Der Raafacker" (1913), which had disputes between Lambrecht and Grevenhausen on the subject. It was a template for the Summer's Day Game, which was later performed every year; The Lambrecht Tourist Office was set up to organize it and is still active today. Rauch also wrote the “Whitsun Festival for the Roebuck and Billy Goat Festival in Deidesheim” (1927). Some elements of it are still part of the billy goat auction program today . The text and melody of a song for the Lindenberg Cyriakus Festival also come from his pen. During the Second World War, Rauch was drafted into the army in 1944. Like three of his sons and a son-in-law, he never returned home from the war: after being seriously wounded on the Eastern Front, he succumbed to his injuries on February 20, 1945 in a hospital in Halle an der Saale .
