It is located on the outskirts of Hinterglemm at about 1100  m above sea level. A. , in the ski area of the village at the Westgipfelbahn.

history

The Karl-Renner-Haus is named after the former Austrian politician and co-founder of the Friends of Nature Karl Renner . It was financed from membership fees, ERP credits and a refuge lottery and opened on August 15, 1952. During the economic boom of the 1950s and 60s, the Karl-Renner-Haus was a popular holiday destination, but from 1985 onwards it suffered from the lack of access for vehicles because the necessary repairs could not be carried out. This ultimately led to a new building in 2006/07 and the Karl-Renner-Haus was reopened on October 12, 2008 as the Sporthotel der Naturfreunde.
