Karl-Ulrich Koehler

Karl-Ulrich Köhler (born April 1, 1956 in Gissigheim ) is a manager in the steel industry and CEO of Rittal GmbH & Co. KG .

Life

Köhler studied metallurgy at the Technical University of Clausthal , where he received his doctorate in 1988. In 1980 he started at Thyssen Stahl in Duisburg and moved to Hoesch AG in 1988 . After the merger of Krupp and Hoesch, he was a member of the Executive Board. In 2005 he took up an honorary professorship at the Bergakademie Freiberg .

At Thyssen-Krupp he had been CEO of the ThyssenKrupp Steel AG steel division since 2001 ; he had to leave this post in 2009 due to errors in the planning of the new plant in Brazil and the rolling mill in North America .

On February 1, 2010, he was appointed to the board of the Corus steel group , which was taken over by Tata Steel in 2007 . There he was promoted to Managing Director on October 1, 2010. Köhler left Tata on February 24, 2016. On March 18, 2016, the Rittal company announced that Köhler would be the new CEO.
