Karl-Wilhelm Ohlms

Karl-Wilhelm Ohlms (born May 21, 1954 ) is a German Rear Admiral a. D. In his last employment, he was the head of the operational support department in the naval command in Rostock .

Military career

Ohlms joined the Bundeswehr in 1972 . As an officer candidate for Crew VII / 72 , he began his training as a naval officer . From 1973 to 1976 he studied economics and organization at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg (degree in business administration).

Ohlms had his first admiral assignment as chief of staff in the armed forces support command in Cologne . After that, Ohlms was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Defense in 2006 . Until 2012 he served there as a department head in the naval command . From 2012 to 2014 Ohlms was a defense attaché at the German Embassy in London . From August 2014 to the end of January 2017, Ohlms was the head of the operational support department in the naval command in Rostock. He retired on March 31, 2017.

Further offices and memberships

He is currently the managing director of the German Defense Association . Since 1996 he has been a member of the Rotary Club Wilhelmshaven-Friesland.
