Charles of Évreux
Charles of Évreux (French: Charles d 'Évreux ; * 1305 in Paris ; † September 5, 1336 ), Count of Étampes , was the son of Prince Louis of France (1276-1319), Count of Évreux and Étampes, and Margaret by Artois (1285-1311).
From his father he received the county of Étampes, which King Charles IV raised to a peerage in 1327 . After his death, Charles of Évreux defended Philip of Valois' claim to the French throne, Edward III. , King of England, contested him.
He married on April 1, 1335 in Poissy Maria de la Cerda (* 1310; † November 19, 1379 in Paris), mistress of Lunel , daughter of Ferdinand II. De la Cerda (1275-1322) and Juana Núñez de Lara . With her he had two sons:
- Ludwig von Évreux (* 1336; † 1400), Count of Étampes
- Johann von Évreux (* 1336; † after 1373)
