Karl Baueregger

Karl Baueregger (born August 12, 1919 in Kirchschlag in der Buckligen Welt , † August 16, 1975 in Oberpullendorf ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and master watchmaker. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1966 to 1969 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1969 to 1975 .

Live and act

Baueregger completed military service in World War II between 1939 and 1945, where he was taken prisoner. He attended the watchmaking institute in Karlstein and passed the master craftsman examination in 1947. He then joined his father's watchmaking business, which he took over in 1959. In addition to his professional activity as a master watchmaker in Kirchschlag, Baueregger was involved in the Kirchschlag municipal council from 1952, and between 1955 and 1970 he held the office of mayor. He was also active as the ÖVP district party chairman between 1954 and 1972 and held numerous chamber functions. He represented the ÖVP between March 30, 1966 and October 19, 1969 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from December 4, 1969 to August 16, 1975.
