Karl Berg (politician)

Karl Berg (born October 15, 1888 in Kaiserslautern , † October 10, 1961 in Neesen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Karl Berg was born the son of a whitewater. After attending elementary school in Kaiserslautern, he completed an apprenticeship as a tobacco worker and worked as a cigar worker until 1913, most recently as a cigar sorter. He then worked until 1933 as a warehouse keeper for the branch of the consumer association in Porta Neesen. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . During the war he was used as a medic on the Western Front and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class.

Berg was a member of the local council from 1919 to 1933 , deputy mayor from 1919 to 1929, and mayor of Porta Neesen from 1929 to 1933. He was also an associate of the Hausberge office and a member of the district committee and district chairman of the Minden district . In 1932 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1933. On April 16, 1933, he left the SPD parliamentary group, but remained a non-attached member of parliament.

From 1948 to 1956 he was a member of the Neesen municipal council and from 1948 until his death he was a member of Hausberge's official day.
