Karl Eßer

Karl Eßer (born October 26, 1929 in Eschweiler ; † June 5, 1994 ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed a teacher training course at the Pedagogical Academy in Aachen . From 1954 Eßer was in the school service, most recently as rector . He was married and had four children.

From 1969 to the regional reform on December 31, 1971 he was a member of the district assembly of the Selfkantkreis Geilenkirchen-Heinsberg and from 1972 to September 30, 1999 a member of the district assembly of the newly formed Heinsberg district . Here he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group until 1979. From October 18, 1979 to 1994, Eßer was district administrator for the Heinsberg district. He was active in numerous committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

On February 12, 1985, Eßer was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and on September 28, 1990 the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
