Karl Fischer (actor, 1801)
Karl Fischer , called Ewald (born February 4, 1801 in Vienna ; † January 31, 1884 in Karlsruhe ) was an Austrian theater actor and director .
Life
Fischer studied law and went to the stage under the name "Ewald". In 1825 he married the actress and singer Beatrix Schwarzböck . Together with his wife he performed at the Stadttheater Aachen from Easter 1828 to December 1830 and took over the management there from 1829/30. From 1830 to 1882 he was a member (since 1872 chief director) of the court theater in Karlsruhe . His wife was also employed there for life. After more than 50 years of service, he retired.
