Le Prêcheur is a commune in the overseas department of Martinique . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Pierre (Martinique) . The coastal village with 1304 inhabitants (as of 2017) is located in the north of the island and is ten kilometers from Saint-Pierre . Until its dissolution in 2015, it was the main town ( chief lieu ) of the canton Le Prêcheur .
