The Mairie

Le Carbet is a commune in the overseas department of Martinique in France . Until its dissolution in 2015, it was the main town (chief lieu) of the canton of the same name and administratively belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Pierre .

history

On June 15, 1502, Christopher Columbus visited the site on his fourth and last great journey. The place name comes from the place name "Caraïbes", after which the airline Air Caraïbes is named.
