Karl Garbers (politician)

Karl Garbers (born March 18, 1896 in Walsrode , Fallingbostel district; † April 5, 1965 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Garbers began an apprenticeship as a carpenter after attending primary school. After the journeyman's examination, he went on a hike. In World War I he was from 1915 to 1918 as a soldier combatants. In 1918 he became a member of the SPD. After the war, he founded the Walsroder furniture storage and joinery company in 1924 .

Since 1946 he was continuously elected to the district assembly of the Fallingbostel district and was active in the city council of Walsrode. In 1961 he became mayor of Walsrode. Garbers was elected a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the fourth and fifth electoral periods from May 6, 1959 to April 5, 1965.
