Karl Heidenblut

Karl Heidenblut (born June 25, 1906 in Essen , † July 9, 1987 in Salzgitter ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Heidenblut attended elementary school and then completed vocational training as a model maker. By attending evening courses and schools, he completed further training and became a department head as a REFA engineer. He had been a member of the Christian Union since he was fourteen. He became a member of the city council of Salzgitter and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group here in 1947.

Heidenblut was a member of the CDU and belonged to the city council of Salzgitter. From 1947 he was chairman of the local CDU city council group.

Heidenblut was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1955 to 1974. From January 26, 1965 to June 20, 1970 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. In addition, he was from September 26, 1955 to April 10, 1958 Chairman of the Zone Boundary Committee. As chairman of the subcommittee "Audit of the Budget Accounts" of the Committee on Budget and Finance, he was active between October 23, 1963 and June 5, 1967 and between April 15, 1971 and June 20, 1974. The Landtag elected him in 1964 as a member of the fourth Federal Assembly , which re-elected Heinrich Lübke as Federal President.

Honors

Holder of the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Since 1977 honorary citizen of the city of Salzgitter.
