Karl Hofer (journalist)

Karl Hofer (born November 22, 1929 in Neustift an der Rosalia , Forchtenstein ) is an Austrian author and journalist.

Life

Karl Hofer attended the Wiener Neustadt teacher training institute for teaching at primary and secondary schools and taught in Vienna and Burgenland. He was an actor in the theater group at the teacher training institute in Wiener Neustadt and later a teacher and leader of a theater group for teachers in the Burgenland Volksbildungswerk. He attended the Academy of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for drama and was a teacher for language education at the Music -Pedagogical Realgymnasium Wiener Neustadt and at the Pedagogical Academy Vienna.

He worked for the cultural magazines Volk und Heimat , Pannonia and Wortmühle .

From 1967, Hofer was an editor at the ORF State Studio Burgenland ( Radio Burgenland ) and was director at the ORF State Studio Burgenland from 1974 to 1982 and from 1986 to 1990 .

In 1971 Hofer founded the international radio play days Unterrabnitz with ORF-Burgenland and with Jan Rys and Günter Unger .

Hofer lives and works in Bad Sauerbrunn .
