Karl Horejs
Karl Horejs (born November 25, 1915 in Kufstein ; † February 27, 1984 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and printer. From 1959 to 1975 he was a member of the National Council .
After elementary school, Horejs attended the citizen school and continued his education at the technical and commercial advanced training school. He learned the profession of printer and was employed as a printer's assistant from 1934 to 1937. After the Second World War he worked from 1945 as the provisional head of the Kufstein employment office, and in 1947 he finally took over this position. In 1956 he was appointed senior auditor and in 1977 a councilor.
As early as 1934, Horejs was sentenced to two months' arrest for his political activities. Between 1945 and 1980 he was active as a local councilor in Kufstein and held the function of city council from 1946 to 1950 and from 1962 to 1971, in between he was deputy mayor from 1950 to 1956. Within the party, he acted as chairman of the SPÖ Kufstein from 1945 to 1948, and from 1945 to 1957 he was deputy chairman of the SPÖ in the Kufstein district. He represented the SPÖ from June 9, 1959 to November 4, 1975 in the National Council.
