Karl Irndorfer (born December 10, 1978 in Freistadt ) is a former Austrian football player .

Career

Irndorfer began his career at SV Gallneukirchen . For the 1996/97 season he moved to the second division SK Vorwärts Steyr . In November 1996 he made his debut for Steyr in the 2nd division when he was substituted on for Herbert Laux on the 14th day of that season against SV Stockerau in the 71st minute . With Steyr he missed promotion to the Bundesliga in the relegation against SCN Admira / Wacker that season .

In 1998 he was finally able to rise to the Bundesliga as a second division champion with Steyr. He made his debut in the top division in August 1998 against FK Austria Wien . With Steyr, however, he had to relegate again as bottom of the table at the end of the 1998/99 season. He then moved to the second division FCN St. Pölten for the 1999/2000 season . After the bankruptcy of St. Pölten during the winter break, he joined the Bundesliga club LASK . With the Linzers he was relegated from the Bundesliga in 2001.

In July 2002 he scored his first goal in the second division in a 3-2 win against DSV Leoben . In January 2003 Irndorfer moved to the regional division SC Schwanenstadt . For the 2004/05 season he returned to Gallneukirchen. With the club he was relegated from the Upper Austrian League in 2006 . In September 2006 he played his last game for Gallneukirchen and ended his career at the age of 27.

After the career

After the end of his career, Irndorfer published a book called Structural Reform of Austrian Football: The Ball is Round, Money is Black .
