Karl Joachim Schmidt-Tiedemann

Karl Joachim Schmidt-Tiedemann (born July 20, 1929 in Dresden , †  September 27, 2014 in Hamburg ) was a German physicist.

Schmidt-Tiedemann earned his diploma in physics at the University of Hamburg in 1954, where he received his doctorate in 1957. From 1968 he was head of the Hamburg research laboratory at Philips , where he had been since 1958, and in 1974 he became a member of the Philips management team. In 1991 he left the company.

In 1982/83 he was President of the German Physical Society .
