Karl Kislinger

Karl Kislinger (born January 15, 1885 in Itzling , today part of Salzburg ; † December 14, 1940 in Berndorf ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAPDÖ ) and master coppersmith. Kislinger was a member of the National Council from 1927 to 1934 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1924 to 1936 .

Life

Kislinger completed six classes at the elementary school in Gnigl and subsequently attended the commercial advanced training school. He entered the service of the Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik in 1914 and did military service between 1917 and 1918 in the First World War . In the Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik, Kislinger was chairman of the workers' works council, and he was also elected to the local council in 1918. In 1919 he took over the office of mayor of Berndorf. During his tenure, Kislinger was able to realize numerous construction projects, and he also represented the Austrian Social Democratic Labor Party between May 20, 1927 and February 16, 1934 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. Kislinger lost his mandate in the state parliament in 1934 in the course of the February fighting , and his office as mayor was also lost. In addition, Kislinger had been district party chairman of Baden in the now banned Social Democratic Party. Kislinger was arrested in 1934 and subsequently remained unemployed until 1938.
