Karl Kodat

Karl Kodat (born February 10, 1943 in Vienna ; † February 29, 2012 ) was an Austrian football player who was active from the 1960s to the early 1980s.

Career

He began his career at the Wiener Sportclub and came to FK Austria Wien in 1964 via Alt-Ottakring . In 1967 he moved to Austria Salzburg for 150,000 schillings (around € 11,000) after a fist affair that earned him a six-month ban and brought him out of favor with the club , where he played until 1971. He then moved to Royal Antwerp for 1.4 million schillings (around € 100,000) , whose team he was part of until 1977 and where he is still one of the legendary players today. He let his career end with Austria Salzburg.

In 1971 he played five games in the dress of the Austrian national team. He made his debut on April 4, 1971 against Hungary (0-2) when he came on in the 77th minute. He scored his only international goal on May 30 in a 4-1 win over Ireland in Dublin.

For Austria Salzburg he played 143 games and scored 70 goals. He scored 47 goals in 71 games for FK Austria Wien. At Royal Antwerp he played 233 games and scored 115 goals.
