Karl Kress

Karl Kress (born March 19, 1945 in Dormagen ) is a member of the CDU state parliament .

biography

After graduating from elementary school in 1959, he trained as a junior chemistry laboratory worker from 1959 to 1961. Then Kress made an additional apprenticeship contract, which he concluded in 1963 as a chemical laboratory technician. From 1963 to 1965 he did a physical education measure at the Institute for Polymer Physics at the University of Mainz . From November 1965 to April 1968, Karl Kress attended the chemical engineering college. Since then he has worked as a chemical technician at Bayer AG in Dormagen. Karl Kress is also a member of the supervisory board of Kreiswerke Grevenbroich GmbH, a deputy member of the administrative board of Sparkasse Neuss , a member of the Sparkasse Foundation “Kulturpflege und Kulturförderung” and chairman of Kultur- und Heimatfreunde Zons eV

Political offices

Karl Kress has been a member of the CDU in Dormagen- Zons since 1972 . From 1991 to 2005 he was chairman of the Dormagen city association of the CDU and since 1975 he has been a member of the CDU's Neuss district committee. In addition, Karl Kress was chairman of the Junge Union Zons from 1972 to 1975 and chairman of the CDU local association Zons from 1974 to 1977.

From 1975 to 1988 Karl Kress was a member of the city council of Dormagen. From 1988 to 2009 he was a member of the district council of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, where he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

From June 2, 2000 to June 8, 2010, he was also a member of the 13th and 14th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 051 Neuss II and constituency 045 Rhein-Kreis Neuss II.

Honors

In 2001, Kress received the Federal Cross of Merit from Federal President Johannes Rau.
