Karl Kreuzer

Karl Friedrich Kreuzer (born November 4, 1934 in Sigmaringen ) is a German legal scholar and former university professor.

Life

After studying law at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Göttingen , Poitiers and Paris , Kreuzer passed the first state examination in law in 1959 in Freiburg. He then worked there initially as a research assistant, and from 1961 as a research assistant. In 1964 he received his doctorate there in Ernst von Caemmerer Dr. iur. After working as an academic senior counselor, Kreuzer completed his habilitation in 1972, also under the supervision of Ernst von Caemmerer, with the unprinted font Culpa in Contrahendo and traffic obligations - a comparative law contribution to limiting liability under contract law. He then worked as a research assistant for the then President of the Federal Constitutional Court , Ernst Benda .

In 1974 Kreuzer held a chair at the University of Heidelberg . In the same year he took up a professorship at the University of Münster , but in 1975 he moved to the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim . From 1979 to 1989 he was a professor at the University of Konstanz . From 1989 until his retirement in 2001, Kreuzer held a chair at the Institute for Comparative Law at the University of Würzburg . In addition, Kreuzer was a lecturer at the Hague Academy for International Law .

Works and works (selection)

Kreuzer's research focus was primarily on international law and comparative law, with the main focus on international law of obligations and contract law. He has also published on national and international business law.
