The flood basin Landshut is a flood basin, which floods the Isar partially past the city of Landshut .

This left-hand relief channel begins west of Landshut about one kilometer above the mouth of the Middle Isar Canal into the Isar. While the river itself flows through the center of Landshut, it leads in a north-easterly direction to Landshut Central Station . At Münchnerau the Klötzlmühlbach crosses the flood basin. The Pfettrach enters it a little to the west of the train station in the Lassenbrand district and runs from there to the mouth within it. From extinguishing fire, the flood basin leads east and ends at Mitterwöhr on the Kleine Isar .

The flood basin is not regulated by a weir , but from a certain level of the river (corresponding to 3.00 m at the Birket gauge in Landshut) part of the Isar water flows into it.

The flood basin was built from 1948 to 1955. At first the Pfettrach ran in the shape of a channel. Between 1986 and 2001 the Pfetttrachlauf was partially renatured there; since then, the Pfettrach has meandered through the flood basin .
