A tributary of the Isar in the urban area of Landshut is called the Kleine Isar .

location

The Kleine Isar branches off at the Ludwigswehr at river kilometer 74.85 on the left side of the Isar and runs roughly parallel to it towards the northeast. From the left and west it first takes the Hammerbach , then the Pfettrach , which runs in the flood basin of the Isar , and then reunites with the main river after about 3600 meters at the Isarspitz at river kilometer 71.25, and flows there into the Altheim reservoir .

The islands between the Isar on the right and the Kleiner Isar on the left are the Mühleninsel , the Hammerinsel and Mitterwöhr . The three islands appear on the map as an elongated island between the two arms of the Isar, but are separated from each other by narrow watercourses. A watercourse immediately to the east of the Johann-Weiß-Weg, which branches off the Great Isar at the height of the Maxwehr to the left and joins the Kleine Isar after the Gerlmühle power station , separates Mühleninsel and Mitterwöhr.
