Karl Ludwig Christian Thienemann
Karl Ludwig Christian Thienemann (born March 25, 1786 in Gräfentonna , † March 8, 1863 in Stuttgart ) was a German businessman, publisher, author and actor.
Life
Thienemann was trained as a businessman as well as an actor.
He worked at the Isartortheater in Munich before he and the businessman JA Finsterlin bought the Stöger bookstore in Munich in 1817. It is possible that he was already involved in the JF Schreiber publishing house in Esslingen in 1831, where he worked as an authorized signatory at the latest in 1846 and where he also published the first children's books.
On June 1, 1849 - at the age of 63 - he founded K.Thienemann Verlag , which he sold to Julius Hoffmann in 1862 .
Thienemann died in Stuttgart in 1863 at the age of 76 .
