Karl Ludwig Hestermann
Karl Ludwig Hestermann (born April 29, 1804 in Hanau , † April 12, 1876 in Mainz ) was a German businessman and politician.
His father died in early youth. After attending school, Hestermann did a commercial apprenticeship and from 1822 worked in a trading company in Milan . In 1828 he moved to Mainz, where he became a wine merchant together with Dupré (Dupre and Company, Hintere Bleiche 65). After that he was a dispatcher at Henkell & Co.
In 1833 he married Sophie Braun. The marriage remained childless and the wife died in 1851.
From February 1848 to 1858 he was a councilor in Mainz. From 1843 to 1853 he was a commercial judge. During the March Revolution he was one of the leading liberals in Mainz. He was a member of the pre-parliament . From July 28, 1833, Hestermann was a Freemason .
